Dublin Port
Dublin is accessible by sea from Britain and France. The major ferry companies are Irish Ferries and StenaLine. Further information on sailings are available on their websites. Dublin Port is 10 km from the conference venue at the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport by taxi.
Dublin Airport
Dublin Airport is one of Europe’s busiest airports, with more than 55 airlines flying to over 190 destinations. There are services to 29 airports in the UK and an ever-expanding European network, which now covers 100 airports. The majority of UK and European airports are served by low-cost, budget airlines. Dublin airport has two terminals (1 & 2). The airport is approximately 2.9km from the conference venue at the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport, with taxi, bus and shuttle links. The simplest way to get from the airport to the venue is the Aircoach or the shuttle provided to those that are staying at the Crowne Plaza.
Dublin Aircoach
Dublin Aircoach operates a regular service (every 15 minutes for most of the day) from Dublin Airport to the city centre. Route 700 (destination Leopardstown / Sandyford) takes you straight into the city centre.
Return tickets may be booked on line or paid at the bus stop in the airport (currently €16 return). This is the simplest and least expensive way to get from the airport to the city centre. Bus stops for the Aircoach have a blue and orange sign.
Dublin Bus
Dublin Bus offers a high-frequency, accessible and easy to use service all over Dublin.
Bus numbers 27B, 41/41C, and 16 run from the city centre, to the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport in case you want to take a look around Dublin to see the many sites there are to offer.
Omni Shopping Centre is only a 15 minute bus ride away and can be accessed by 33, 41C, 16, and 41 from the Santry bus stop ID 1637. There is a huge selection of clothing shops and dining options only a short distance away.

Exact change is needed for fares on Dublin Bus. If you think you will take public transport several times, we strongly recommend purchasing a Leap card. Leap cards may be purchased at the airport and in most convenience stores and are valid on Dublin Bus, LUAS tram and DART train where reduced rates are offered. Do not forget to ‘tag on’ and ‘tag off’ on Luas and DART services.
Taxi Service
There are a large number of taxi services available in the city centre. Taxis from the airport to the city centre / the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel are readily available outside the arrivals hall. A taxi from the airport to the Crowne Plaza should cost €20-25; €20-30 from the airport to the city centre; and €20-€25 from the city centre to the Crowne Plaza hotel. Ensure to only travel in a licensed taxi – they will have their taxi license displayed on the dashboard. Taxis are readily available all over the city with listed taxi ranks in most main tourism areas, and it is also possible to hail a licensed taxi on the street. All taxis take cash, but only some take credit cards. Confirm which payment methods are accepted before starting your fare. Both ‘Uber’ and ‘Free Now’ taxi apps operate in Dublin. DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transit) Train

LUAS
The LUAS (Irish for speed) tram has two lines operating in the city, the Red Line and the Green Line.

Car Hire
Many car hire firms have an office in the main arrivals area in Terminals 1 and 2 of Dublin Airport. These include Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Budget, Sixt and Enterprise. Parking is available for Hotel guests in the Crowne Plaza, however, parking is €3 per hour and €10 for 24 hours.
Bicycles

You will see throughout the city centre the “dbs” or “Dublin Bikes” parked throughout the capital. Dublin Bus
Dublin Bus offers a high-frequency, accessible and easy to use service all over Dublin.
Bus numbers 46a and 145 run every 5-7 minutes from the city centre (Nassau Street) southward to UCD via the N11 Belfield slip-road (stop 2007); cross the Stillorgan Road Flyover bridge and enter UCD via the main gates. The same buses travel towards the city, from stop 768 directly outside UCD.
Other buses serving UCD include:
- 39a, which terminates within the Belfield campus (stop 767); however to access the conference venue, it is better to get off one stop earlier (stop 763) before the Stillorgan Road Flyover bridge.
- 7b, 7d, 47, 116 & 155, which will halt on the N11 at stops 2007 & 768
- 11, which stops outside the Clonskeagh gate to UCD; this is a 20 minute walk across campus to the conference venue.
- Xpresso services operate to UCD during morning and evening peak times only.

Dublin Aircoach
Dublin Aircoach operates a regular service (every 15 minutes for most of the day) from Dublin Airport to the city centre and to the southside of Dublin. Route 700 (destination Leopardstown / Sandyford) stops on the N11 slip-road opposite UCD – a short walk to the conference venue
across the Stillorgan Road flyover bridge.
